SPEND THE DAY WITH AN ELEPHANT

A Day of Gentle Indulgence

Spend the day with an elephant

Spend a day with an elephant

Currently, the capture of wild elephants for domestication is not taking place in Sri Lanka. Conservationists firmly advocate against domesticating even orphan elephants.

Nevertheless, there is still a need to address the desires of individuals who have a genuine affection for elephants and wish to interact with them responsibly. In this regard, you will be employed in the spa to provide these elephants with a few hours of indulgence, as opposed to their usual tasks of carrying tourists, logging, or participating in processions.

Reasons to embrace

This experience is truly memorable, offering ample opportunities for intimate interactions with the fascinating wildlife that call Sri Lanka's coast home.

As a tour company committed to responsible practices, we have made the decision to cease all promotion of elephant back rides.

Additionally, we do not endorse or promote the elephant orphanage in Pinnawala.

The purpose of this activity is to provide elephant enthusiasts with the chance to interact closely with a domesticated elephant, caring for it and gaining insights into its behavior in a controlled environment.

The country currently houses nearly 300 domesticated elephants, and temples are actively advocating for an increase in their numbers by acquiring more elephants from places such as the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.

It is essential to ensure that you visit Sigiriya, Habarana, Dambulla, or Kandalama during your trip.
