Embrace Ethical Turtle Encounters
Explore the village which conserve sea turtles
Rekawa is the village where the Turtle Conservation Project is currently being implemented. This project focuses on safeguarding the sea turtles that frequent the coastline. Given that Sri Lanka's beaches are home to 5 out of the 7 endangered turtle species.
Art of Lanka Tours does not recommend visiting turtle hatcheries. As a result, we have curated a unique tour that offers delightful encounters with the local community, including the opportunity to observe turtles at the beautiful Rekawa beach during night time.
